OneKey Classic 1S Review

Why I Bought It
Iβd been looking for a hardware wallet for a while. There are so many options, but most felt either too expensive or not transparent enough.
Then I came across OneKey.
A few things stood out:
Backed by Binance Labs and Coinbase Ventures.
The only hardware wallet with official versions for Binance, OKX, Bybit, and Bitget.
Fully open-source firmware. Anyone can check the code on GitHub.
EAL 6+ secure chip β the highest security level you can buy.
That convinced me to give the Classic 1S a try.

What's in the Box
When it arrived, hereβs what I found inside:
The OneKey Classic 1S device
A short USB-C cable
A lanyard
A quick start guide
Two Recovery Sheets (the cards where you write your seed phrase)
The Recovery Sheet has onekey.so|start printed on it and blank numbered lines for your 12 or 24 words. Simple and clear.
The wallet itself is tiny β smaller than a car key. It has a small OLED screen and four physical buttons (up, down, confirm, back). Feels solid, not cheap.

Setting It Up: 7 Minutes
Iβm not a tech genius. Here's how it went:
Downloaded the OneKey app on my phone.
Plugged the wallet into my phone via USB-C.
The app detected it immediately.
I selected "create new wallet."
The wallet showed me 12 words on its screen. I used the four buttons to scroll.
I wrote each word down on the Recovery Sheet β in order, neatly.
Set a PIN using the buttons.
Done.
No driver issues. No crashes.
Important: The wallet then asked me to confirm a couple of random words from my seed phrase. That makes sure you actually wrote them down correctly. Smart.
The Recovery Sheet is now stored safely (not on my computer, not on my phone β just paper).
Using It Day to Day
The OneKey app is actually good β not clunky like most hardware wallet apps.
I added Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. Balances showed up in seconds.
Sending crypto:
Enter address and amount in the app.
The wallet screen shows the address and amount.
Use the four buttons to confirm or reject.
Press confirm.
Done.
No blind signing. No endless pop-ups.
Security (The Real Reason to Care)
The Classic 1S uses an EAL 6+ secure element β same as passports and banking cards. Your private keys never leave the chip.
Everything is open-source. You can go to GitHub right now and see every line of code.
Bluetooth? Some people worry. But the wallet only sends signed transactions over Bluetooth, never your keys. You can also just use USB.
The four buttons make navigation easy β up/down to scroll, confirm to select, back to go back.
That Recovery Sheet (Don't Ignore It)
The Recovery Sheet they include is simple: onekey.so|start plus blank lines. But it's the most important piece of paper you'll own.
Write clearly. Use a pen, not a pencil.
Never photograph it. Never type it into any app or website.
Store it somewhere safe β away from water, fire, and other people.
OneKey gives you two sheets. I filled one and kept the other blank as a backup. Smart.
What I Like
β
Price β $99 for this level of security. Ledger Nano X is $149.
β
Open-source β Total transparency.
β
Easy setup β Under 10 minutes.
β
Great app β Supports 100+ chains.
β
Four-button control β Clear physical feedback.
β
Recovery sheets included β No need to print your own.
β
Trust factor β Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget all back it.
What Could Be Better
β Battery life β About 2 days. Not weeks.
β Small screen β Long addresses get cut off. You scroll.
β iPhone users β You'll need a USB-C to Lightning adapter.
Nothing major.
Who Is This For?
Beginners wanting their first hardware wallet.
Anyone who cares about open-source and doesn't trust closed firmware.
People who want exchange-level security without exchange fees.
If you already have a Ledger or Trezor and you're happy, you don't need to switch. But if you're buying your first wallet or want something more transparent β this is a great choice.
Should You Buy It?
Yes β if you want a secure, simple, affordable hardware wallet.
I've been using mine for a while now. It works. No drama.

Final Word
The OneKey Classic 1S isn't fancy. No touchscreen. No fingerprint. But it has a clear OLED, four responsive buttons, top-tier security, and a simple Recovery Sheet that does exactly what it should.
For $99, that's a win.
Got questions? Drop a comment. I've used this every day β I'll tell you the truth.
